Not my problem is a superb book about rule-breaker Aideen and super ambitious class teacher’s pet Maebh. Aideen can solve everyone’s problem apart from her own. Normally, I would never have chosen a book like this, but I challenged myself and tried to get into it. It’s a bit of a slow starter but, once in, you find yourself gripped with the action-packed story, the unmissable humour and Aideen’s relatable every day life. What is even better is the way the author broaches difficult subjects such as alcoholism. Throughout the book you ask yourselves: what can bond a rebel, a swat and Kavi her partner in crime? This book is perfect if you like social realism or just want to try out cool new book. Ciara Smyth has created a wonder piece.
